Friday night hunt

Rita and I had a hunt this past Friday night. We started out at Summit Grove Cemetery..but..it was getting kind of windy, so we bowed out of that one early. We did hear what sounded like audible voices..saw 3 shadowy men off in the distance...unfortunately, the wind chased us off early. We then moved on to CBC, where as usual, we were NOT disappointed. I was using my EVP amplifier and while we were sitting at the table, I heard a very loud scraping noise. I jumped..Rita jumped, too..lol..and what we heard was "someone or something" moving her equipment case! Right before that, it felt like someone was touching my back! I asked "who's standing over there" after the case moved and soon to follow my inquiry was a K2 hit. VERY COOL! Both of our cell phones were out of line of fire at the time.

I would love to find a way to communicate with our little girl in there without getting her into trouble with the adult spirits in there. I wish there was a way for us to include the adults as well..in a way that would make it ok for us to have time with her, too. I wish there was a way to distract them. We've tried to include them, but to no avail, so far. It's VERY frustrating. Easter is coming up and I REALLY want to bring her some gifts..but NOT if it will get her into trouble. There've been EVPs confirming her getting reprimanded. What do we do? Any comments?

Things have been kinda quiet in my house lately. It's tempting sometimes to invite her into my house to stay...BUT...I have children of my own who do not need to be exposed to it knowingly...AND..i'm not entirely sure of what the adult spirits will do if I take her..LOL..not willing to risk that one!

Warmer weather is on the horizon! YAY! Hopefully, this means new groups will come in and see what all of the excitement is about with CBC...however...the river is also rising...flood waters approaching...hopefully, we're able to keep our building safe!

More blogging to come. We need some fans for our blogs! More input and comments from other people! C'MON PEOPLE! SPEAK YOUR MINDS! :)

Blessed Be!

When they follow you home...

Rita posted about activity in her home and now i'm going to post about the same topic. I absolutely, without a doubt, know that spirits can attach themselves to your energy and follow you home. Rita, Theresa and I have all experienced it.

I first noticed activity in my home not long after we started hunting at CBC. I'd always felt that it was a child in my home and that he/she came from CBC. The spirit activity consisted of shadows out of the corner of my eye..sometimes blatantly appearing in front of me or walking past me..footsteps..sounds coming from my kids room when they weren't here..and one night, the child was taunting me...standing on the threshold of my kids room..I felt like an idiot pointing my finger at the spirit and warning it not to even think about entering my childrens room..lol..but hey..ya had to be there to appreciate it! The ornery little spirit even had the audacity to extend an arm out to hold it in the doorway of their room! Well I never! LOL! Rita was on the phone with me at the time and was laughing..and it was quite humerous. I've had a spirit sit at my computer and log into my internet..lol..which was a little unnerving..all of a sudden my internet is up..and I have dial up! Yeah yeah..I know..don't laugh..i'll have DSL soon. LOL!

Since then, i've recorded in my house and to my surprise, not only recorded a child's voice..but also a cat! I've even seen a cat hair floating in the air..and fyi..I have NO pets whatsoever.

I'm under the assumption that you can pick up a spirit from just about anywhere. Do you suppose they always find their way back to where they were picked up? Since i've always assumed the child that frequents my house is from CBC, sometimes i'll tell her to just go home and we will come visit her soon. Most of the time, it seems to work!

My biggest wish is that they will be less mysterious. I think it would be less unnerving if we could actually see them..all of the time..to be able to see what's coming. I haven't been brave enough to record again and still need to use the K2 meter in here and see what happens.

I'll post some more later! Everyone...feel free to email me and tell me your stories! Let us investigate! :)

Do ghost hunters bring their "research" home with them?

I've noticed a very significant phenomenon. Three out of four hunters in our group have brought home ghosts. Our homes were activity-free before we began hunting. Now, a year and a half later, we have quite active homes. We always try to protect ourselves while on a hunt, and always tell the residents to stay put when we leave. But I've found that ghosts have a mind of their own and rarely do what we ask. Is this happening perhaps because, as frequent hunters, we make ourselves more open to spirit activity?
I'll let Shana and Theresa blog about their homes. Let me tell you about mine.
It started last year. My husband is a towboater and is gone for 30 to 40 days at a time. The activity used to happen when I was home alone. Lately, it has continued while Kevin is here. The first things I noticed were objects moving, or more accurately, being thrown. The first was a 20 lb. bag of dog food. I heard it, and then saw it, deposited upright in the middle of the kitchen floor. My labradoodle is a piglet, but he can't lift the bag. Next was a large document folder. It weighs probably 7 lbs. and was on top of the fridge. I walked into the kitchen and it hurled at my head. It didn't just fall, it had to clear a candy dish in front of it. Next, I was on the computer and heard my puppy's crate open. She stumbled in sleepy-eyed and looked at me like "What? Why'd you wake me?" More recently, my medicine bottle has flown from the kitchen window sill to across the kitchen floor, twice. I also watched a spatula in the sink flip in the air and fling water all over. I've had doors opened that were shut tight.
Next I began hearing someone walking up and down the hall. I could also hear them in my enclosed front porch area. The dogs always alert to the noises. I hear them knock on my downstairs front door. I hear them knock on the upstairs front door. I hear them knock on the back door and the kitchen window.
One night, while watching T.A.P.S., the team said "if anyone's here, please say something." To which a young sounding man responded (in my home, out loud, right next to me) "Hey." The dogs went crazy searching for the voice.
Lately, Kevin and I have both heard a man talking over and above the TV. Can't usually make out what he says, but once I heard "hello."
While lying in bed the other night, I heard the "hello" and then we both saw a black shadow go across the ceiling, followed by a huge thump in the attic above us.
Finally, I got the courage to record in my home. I turned off the TV midday and put the recorder in the hall on the baker's rack. Within a few minutes, the dogs went off, and I heard the young man say "Hey" again. Upon reviewing the recording, about 20 minutes later, I get up to use the restroom. You hear me walk in there, and you hear a very raspy, smarmy, very rude voice say "Watch Mama." Oh my. I threw off the headphones and paraded through my house reading him the riot act. I haven't heard from him again. But then again, I haven't had the guts to record again.
Then there's the incident that happened at the hospital this month. My husband had a very serious surgery and I spent the night in his room on a cot. In the middle of the night, out of his head on morphine, my husband woke and tried to remove his equipment and IV. I woke and saw him teetering by his bed. It appeared that he was going to fall, and something would catch him. So I got him back to bed, got a nurse to check his equipment, and then had a personal meltdown. I stepped into the restroom and immediately felt a ghostly presence. My hair stood up, I got an extreme chill, and felt petrified. I ask "Who's there?" And got the answer "Don't worry, I've got him."
Last but certainly not least, there's Roady. We picked up Roady on a trip to a local cemetery. A lady was being very serious, asking us to "help her hear my voice." Followed immediately by a comical sounding voice saying "It's Roady!" In the weeks following, we heard Roady everywhere we went. He went to the caves with Shana. He went in the truck with Theresa. He went to the cafe with me. He always says very silly things. We love him and have grown accustomed to his being with us. We haven't heard him lately. Roady, where are you?
If any other hunters have experienced similar phenomena, give us a shout.

A week of hunting

Theresa, Kyle and I have been on a few hunts in the past week. We missed Shana, but work and "the plague" have kept us apart.
We went to CBC 3 times. Each time, we experienced the very odd running in the rafters above us. It's quite loud, much too loud for an animal. It sounds like a two-footed cadence, with shoes. We also experienced some very loud bangs in the adjoining room. A guest was touched, or more correctly, grabbed by the ankle while sitting at the table. And we heard someone tip-toeing up and down the ramp in the adjoining hallway. EVP's included one disembodied voice heard aloud by Theresa and myself. We thought it said "hello" but upon reviewing the recorder, it said "It's your time." Shudder. I hope he wasn't speaking directly to one of us. Another EVP on the same day said "Save the children." I also heard what sounds like the Native American, coughing and speaking a sentence. It makes me crazy trying to figure out why the spirits appear so randomly here. We haven't heard from the Native American since he threw a fit and pounded on our table in the summer. And it seems there are lulls, where no one speaks for weeks on end. Then they "wake up" and talk our ears off. It's just all so random. I wish I had the answers.
More EVP review today. I will report back if I get anything else.

Comments, questions and other thoughts..

How can you tell if you're dealing with separate spirits or if you're dealing with one evil entity posing as separate spirits? Can one intelligent spirit change form and voice and pretend to be more than one spirit?

Let's take CBC for example... That one, small place has MANY spirits, or at least it seems to. There appears to be different personalities there..all of them seeming to be intelligent. There are times when we'll ask for a noise and get it..times when we ask to be touched and feel it. There are weird things happening in there at times. We never know what's going to happen from hunt to hunt. We have TONS of audio..some of it we even hear aloud in real time. We have some good visual evidence as well. There are times when we've seen shadows moving about, mists, balls of light..and in the beginning, even full blown apparitions. We've had great K2 Meter hits and bear in mind that this building has absolutely no electricity in it, save for that which comes from our equipment, which is never in line of fire of the meter, so isn't causing the hits to happen. Dousing rods have been successful in there. This place is amazing! One of the most active places i've ever had the privilege to be in.

I'm a fan of watching Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Ghost Lab and other shows like that. I see what they do and compare it and their evidence to what we do. I would LOVE to have any of those groups come to our small town and investigate the building that is a constant source of awe and amazement for us. I want to see if it's as active as it's become because of US.

I always wonder why a spirit will touch you if you ask or make a noise for you if you ask..but NOT show themselves to you when you ask. We've had random answers to questions..but not to the really important ones. Why won't they give us their names? We've had one instance where we've been given a name in CBC, but the rest have been found due to research with a local historian..and from then on, it's all a guessing game and us taking the spirits words and actions for what they're worth. Is someone in there just yanking our chains? Wanting us to believe things to be a certain way? Playing with our minds? It's SO hard to remain scientific sometimes..especially in this place. My main weakness in CBC is the alleged spirit of the little girl in there. As a mother, I dare you to remain unaffected by it. One of the times we investigated in there, I promised her a gift. I left a stuffed bunny rabbit for her. At the time, I received no response that I could see or hear at the time I left the gift..but..on the audio afterwards, you hear a little girl getting excited by her gift..."I've got a bunny? I've got a bunny!" I'm going to be honest...my heart skipped a beat and I got a tear in my eye. I just can't shake the feeling that this child is a lost soul..surrounded by other spirits..is confused and depending on contact from us to be happy. I also get the impression, as per previous EVPs, that we get this child in trouble by singling her out and doting attention on her. Who does she answer to? It's SO frustrating..because I just want to SEE her..to be able to give her a gift face to face and SEE her accept it. I just want to grab onto this little girl and hug her. It's my curse to remain unscientific, I suppose. I'm constantly conflicted by this. I'd hate to think that if I decide to stop being emotionally involved with this place, that i'm refusing this lost little soul. In my heart of hearts, I am not sure I can do that. Is there anyone else out there who has dealt with this situation? How do you remain emotionally unattached and scientific? Maybe if it were just random investigations at different places it'd be easier..but..we've logged some serious man hours with this place. I've had many conflicting emotions...sadness, fear, confusion, happiness, excitement, anger and frustration..you name it.

Anyway...long blog..but more to come! Keep watching and don't hesitate to visit our website..www.calhouncountyparanormal.comoj.com. Contact us..tell us what you think..invite us to haunts that you'd like for us to check out..talk to us! We would love to hear from you.

Watch for more updates! Blessings to all of you.

My first blog for the group :)

Wow..where to begin...

Let me start by saying that i'm ECSTATIC that I have such a wonderful group to work with. Rita and her husband are absolutely wonderful. Rita and I work very well together and are usually in sync during hunts a lot of the time. We usually hear things simultaneously and when we both grab our stomachs or our heads..get the chills..look out! Something paranormal is getting ready to happen! Kevin is very sensitive to paranormal stimuli and that's a good trait to have in a paranormal group. Theresa...aaahhhh Theresa..LOL..always fun to hunt with! Always easy to get along with and always smiling. Love her! Kyle? Kyle is always entertaining and has some balls of steel at times. Due to work schedules, family issues and health problems, hunts involving the entire group have been hard to plan..however..we have small hunts here and there and as long as we're making contact, that's important.

I sincerely hope that 2010 brings about good things. We have new business cards and T Shirts in the works. We have TONS of audio to listen to and post. We have new places to hunt. Unfortunately, the rising flood waters are NOT going to play in our favor, as CBC is in the direct line of fire. This is sad, as CBC is one of our "hot spots". There've been many floods in the area and this doesn't seem to hinder the amount of paranormal activity in this one, small, lone building..BUT..still..I always wonder if each flood will be the one that breaks the building. What if the owner decides to NOT save the building after a flood? What in the world would we do? I'm telling you...for people who don't know the story and history of our group...this one small building in Kampsville, IL, is a constant source of inspiration, confusion, awe and motivation for us. This place never fails to amaze us.

I will be posting another blog after this one. Look for it! :)

Well, so far my plan isn't going so well. I've got an injured husband to care for for the next couple months. I'm hunting when I can and analyzing evidence sporadically. Not much time for blogging. But hang in, I'll catch up. Just a little glitch.

Grand central station?

In the last couple weeks, we have thought we had a new "personality" at the haunted cafe. We try to keep them straight, but it's not always easy. Over time, you learn their voice patterns, idiosyncrasies, even their sense of humor. So we started picking up someone who speaks very clearly. When we asked his name while getting a strong k2 hit, he answered "Bud". Hmmmm, this is new. But is it? In the back of my mind, I think I've heard that voice before. I think it's the voice that, while giving a neck massage, told Shana to "go right to sleep." That was at least very early last summer. Where has this person been since then? Has someone stronger overshadowed his energy? Has he been on vacation in the islands? Over to the legion for a few beers? And the big question, why on earth do they all gather here at this one place? A friend and fellow investigator once called it a "gas station for ghosts." I think he might have been pretty spot-on. I'm of the school of thought that everywhere has a ghost or two. But this place has probably 20 at any given time. And they're 20 strong ghosts. They speak clearly in conversational speech. They move things. They make noises when you ask them to. Yes, it's on a river bank. Yes, it's nearly sitting on a limestone bluff. But those things contribute to residual haunts, mostly. And that's not enough to explain why this one junky little building in podunk has enough ghosts to populate a small village.

Any thoughts?

2010 is the year of getting organized for CCP. We'll be catching up on evidence review, following up on old cases, and keeping our followers informed of our activities. We hope you enjoy our investigations as much as we do.
